I am going to share some names of those first players who were the pioneers of this sport. In 1958 there were the first national championship of Ecuavoley, it was in Santo Domingo de los Colorados. The two teams which played in order to be the winner were from the province of Pichincha and the other one was from the province of Tunguragua. In Pichincha were the Silva’s brothers, and in Tunguragua were the famous Caranqui, with Bruno Pelaes aka: El pailover and the other player was Carlos LLerena aka: pancito. according with Omar Silva the player who won that championship, that match last 3 hours because those were the best teams and the best players of ecuavoley of the Whole Ecuador.

Of course years later there have been many good players such as: Pedro Romero aka: El Bucay, it is considered the pioneer of the classical technical player, Eduardo Vinces who was 10 years in a row national championship, he was very tall his height was 2,35 m. There are many of them who has done history in this sport.
